OUR MISSION & HISTORY
Since 1952, St. Bede has served our local community as a highly-respected Catholic grammar school. We are blessed to have a vibrant, highly-invested community that has seen multiple generations within the same family attend our Church and School. Today, we remain true to our foundational values, while continuing to invest in modern tools and educational concepts that ensure our students receive the highest level of education in mind, body, and spirit.

OUR MISSION:
THE WHOLE CHILDA QUALITY, CATHOLIC EDUCATION THAT FOCUSES ON MIND, BODY, SPIRIT
At St. Bede, we believe in education that goes beyond books and tests. Our mission is to help develop the next great generation of leaders who are not only well-educated, but also have a strong moral compass, deep faith, and true sense of community. We seek to help our students uncover their innate gifts and talents, and learn to foster and share them for the benefit of all – whether it’s using our toolbox to positively deal with conflict, or building good sportsmanship and teamwork through team athletics.
We take great pride in seeing our graduates not only attend the top high schools in our community, but thrive while there – taking on key positions in student government, religious leadership, on-campus volunteer activities, student athletics, and more. -

THREE GENERATIONS
OUR LIVING LEGACY
We believe there’s no greater compliment than our alumni bringing their own children to attend St. Bede. Today, we’re proud to have educated two and three generations of local families, with many grandparents who originally attended St. Bede now highly involved with their grandchildren on campus.

ROOTS AND WINGS
CATHOLIC HERITAGE. MODERN EDUCATION.
1952
St. Bede the Venerable School was founded by the Sisters of St. Louis.The first classes were held at Flintridge Sacred Heart Academy while the original school was being built.
Cardinal James McIntyre and Bishop Timothy Manning blessed the new school building which opened with space for 320 students.
1953The first graduation took place in June.
Our first kindergarten class was added with a half-day curriculum.
1977
The last of the double-class students graduated, and St. Bede committed to remaining a single-class school. Technology lab added to campus.
1987
The Child Education Center (CEC) was contracted to provide a comprehensive, on-campus after-care program.
1991
A new, digitally-integrated school building is opened, with state-of-the-art technology and science labs, in addition to modern classroom facilities.
2003
Kindergarten moves to a full- day curriculum.
2012
Introduced coding into grades 2-8 curriculum.
2017
2019The Parish and School kicked off a capital campaign to rebuild the Parish Hall into a modern arts and athletic facility in addition to a welcoming community center.
2020
The School became one-to-one with students and devices to allow for technology use throughout all gradelevels and curriculum at developmentally apporpriate levels.
2021
The School welcomed the first Transitional Kindergarten class to our campus, these 4 and 5 year old students participate in all aspects of campus life including our robust special classes including PE, Music, Art, Technology, and Spanish.
The School introduced Spanish Language Classes to all grade levels.
2023
The Parish and School began consutruction on our new Parish Hall and Gym.
