Faith Life

St. Bede the Venerable School is part of a vibrant Christian community at St. Bede the Venerable Church. As a parish school, students have numerous opportunities to practice their faith:

  • Students attend an 8:00 a.m. Mass each week
  • Students host an 11:00 a.m. Mass the first Friday of each month
  • During Lent, students attend weekly Stations of the Cross
  • In May, students honor our Holy Mother Mary at an annual May Crowning
  • The Student Council Religious Activities Chair keeps students mindful of their faith with weekly prayers and various activities

Families are welcome to attend all student Masses and events.  Please check the school calendar for dates and times.

Throughout the year, students participate in Holy Childhood Association. This international association is dedicated to fostering the awareness of the missionary nature of the church. Through Holy Childhood, students learn to:

  • Pray daily for their brothers and sisters in the missions
  • Learn about the lives of our brothers and sisters in developing countries
  • Participate in raising funds for their brothers and sisters in our Global Village

Madonna with Infant Of Prague -  This beautiful piece was originally part of the first rectory at St. Bede the Venerable Church.  She adorned the wall in the dining room.  Years ago,  she was put in storage and this past year,  given to the school.  In researching, we have not found any Infant of Prague icons that are in the Madonna’s arms.  Usually, they are alone.  Inscription on the piece has the year 1907.  It is hand carved from wood.  She now sits beautifully in an alcove in the Library.  Stop by and see it!

New Missals for 2012 - St. Bede School Cub Scouts from Pack 507 and Boy Scouts from Troop 502  changed Missals in the church for the beginning of Advent.
