Fundraising is vital to St. Bede the Venerable School’s financial health. The Parent Association is committed to closing the gap between the school’s income and expenses. As members of the Parent Association, each family is asked to donate to the school to help meet this commitment. Each year there is a suggested, tax-deductible donation goal per family. There are numerous events to participate in and donations from grandparents, extended-family and friends contribute to a family’s yearly goal. St. Bede School is blessed by the continued and generous support from school families and from the community.
The St. Bede Back-to-School Picnic is a fun way to usher in the new school year. The Picnic is held in September and is a great opportunity to get reacquainted with old friends and meet new ones. The entire family is invited to enjoy In-N-Out Burgers. While this event is mainly a social gathering for school families to meet and have fun, 100% of the proceeds from this event, after expenses, are donated to the school.
Premium gift wrap, accessories for the home, candy and gourmet chocolates are sold in the fall of each school year. Merchandise arrives before Christmas wrapping and giving. The school makes a percentage of all sales.
Jog-a-Thon is our biggest annual fundraiser at St. Bede the Venerable School. Leading up to the event are weekly rallies, contests and competitions to encourage school-wide participation. Students get sponsors to pledge one-time donations or specific dollar amounts for the number of completed laps.
Jog-a-Thon is in late October at St. Francis High School Track. Parents and faculty walk or run with the students. Each student receives a t-shirt to wear on the day of the event. Following Jog-a-Thon, students enjoy a Dad’s Burger lunch (prepared by St. Bede School dads, of course!). Nearly 100% of every dollar donated goes to the school and all donations are tax-deductible to the fullest extent permitted under law.
BedeFest is an annual event for parents, family and friends to raise funds to support St. Bede School’s operating budget. The event includes dinner, dancing and silent and live auctions.

The See’s Candy fundraisers are a convenient way for parents to purchase a wide variety of candy and gift certificates from See’s Candy with a percentage of the total purchase going toward graduation expenses for the 8th grade class. See’s Candy is sold before Christmas and Easter.
The Spring Raffle and Auction is the final fundraising event of the school year and occurs each May at the General Parent Meeting. This fun evening begins with the school faculty serving complimentary beverages and hors d’oeuvres.
Raffle tickets are sold for prizes that include a Grand Prize of free tuition for one year or $3,000 in cash. The drawing also includes other tuition discounts or cash prizes. Raffle chances are mailed to all St. Bede the Venerable School families and parish members. Ticket-holders do not need to be present to win.
The evening also includes an exciting Live Auction. Included in the Live Auction items are a chance to be “Principal for the Day”, reserved front row seating and VIP parking for Graduation, the Christmas Concert and the Spring Music Concert.
